Booking open for Isle of Man's most ambitious cyber security conference - CyberIsle 2019
01 July 2019
The Isle of Man Government is hosting the Island’s most ambitious cyber security conference - CYBERISLE 2019.
Registration is now open for the free event, which takes place on Wednesday 23 October 2019, at the Villa Marina in Douglas.
CYBERISLE 2019 aims to raise awareness of the steps that can be taken at home, at work and within the community to combat cyber security threats, with practical tools and insights.
Dr Alex Allinson MHK, Member for the Cabinet Office, encouraged an increased sense of awareness and participation from the community: “Technology is part of our everyday lives; but despite the many advantages it brings, there are also some inherent threats that require us to be vigilant.
“Education is key. We want everyone to be aware of the often simple steps they can take to protect themselves, our community and our economy in the digital era.
“It promises to be a very interesting and thought-provoking conference, with expert speakers. The event is just one of the ways we are implementing the National Cyber Security Strategy published in May 2018.”
Attendees will learn about the evolving nature of cyber security and be given guidance and information on how best to respond to threats in order to remain AWARE, SECURE, and RESILIENT.
The event will run from 8am – 8:30pm with opportunities for networking throughout the day.
Speakers will include cyber security experts and professionals at all levels from across the public and private sectors, including the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre.
There are a number of opportunities for businesses to participate in the event through sponsorship options and a trade stand presence during the day. Interested parties should contact CYBERISLE@gov.im for more information.
Registrations can be made online at https://cyberisle2019.eventbrite.co.uk/.
More information on the day’s speakers and the agenda will be released soon.
