Visit Isle of Man host a series of travel and tourism industry drop-in sessions
03 November 2020
Visit Isle of Man, an Executive Agency of the Department for Enterprise, are hosting a series of on-Island focused drop-in sessions for members of the Travel and Tourism industry.
The 'Coffee and Cake' drop-in sessions will provide industry members the opportunity to engage directly with Visit Isle of Man's Board Members, whom each represent a different Travel and Tourism sector, the Agency's Non-Executive Chair, Ranald Caldwell, and the wider Visit Isle of Man team.
The sessions, which launched in the Capital this week, will be taking place across the Island and have been designed to provide accommodation, activity and attraction providers and restaurateurs the opportunity to feedback their thoughts on the current state of the Travel and Tourism market following the outbreak of COVID-19, while also sharing their experiences from the last seven months.
Ranald Caldwell, Non-Executive Chair of the Visit Agency, said:
'Not only is this an opportunity for our industry members to tell us their story, but it also provides us the chance to gauge industry's response to the Government's financial support schemes, notably the Strategic Capacity Scheme, while also allowing us to share our strategic direction for the Island's recovery moving forward.
'However, and maybe most importantly, we hope these informal and open sessions will help us build stronger relationships with industry, so we can ensure they are included throughout the recovery process in order for us to achieve the brightest of futures for both the Island and our industry members.'
Angela Byrne, Head of the Visit Isle of Man Agency, commented:
'We encourage all of our industry members to take advantage of these sessions; all feedback is welcome and will inform and help drive our recovery strategy moving forward. Our commitment to support and help rebuild the industry during these uncertain times is of upmost importance and Agency members will continue to work with industry to ensure the appropriate level of business support and advisory services are offered during this ever changing situation.'
The next two 'Coffee and Cake' drop-in sessions will be taking place on the 4th November at Foraging Vintners, Port Erin and the 18th November at Conrod's Pizzeria, Ramsey.
